A mystery dogs researchers as to the husband of Nancy Rakestraw "of Virginia," and matriarch of the Rockingham County, North Carolina Rakestraws. Indeed, at this point, we're not sure of her son's name – the son that sired James Monroe Rakestraw – although one family researcher (Roger Rakestraw) speculates he may have been the Robert Rakestraw that was ex-communicated from the Quaker Church in North Carolina.
