If the reminiscences of average people weren't all that interesting then Angela's Ashes wouldn't have been the hot book and movie last year. "The Greatest Generation" would not have inspired an industry chronicling the stories of many everyday lives, and "Roots" wouldn't still be the most-watched mini-series in television history.
