Templeton Sr anchors these Biographies of people -- family members, "extended" family, and historical figures -- that have entered the orbit of our ancestors in one way or another. It's the reward of doing genealogy: what in school seemed dry, lifeless, or worse, irrelevant to daily life at the turn of the Millennia, takes on breath and desire, heroism and meaning when history goes by names of the people that not only shaped our nation, but imprinted upon generations of parents and children the values and lessons that shaped who we are, ourselves.

Some of the following "bios" are very brief, as there is little information to draw upon about the individual. We do our best to confirm
essential details, but some speculation is necessary in fleshing
out the stories of long-departed family members. Historical figures and folks that participated in great (or small) events that are part of the "public record" stitch into the grand narrative of American history the stories of family members that all we have is a mention or two in a letter or a remeniscence of kinfolk. You'll find footnotes that can point you to further reading on the people and events included.
